Hamelink Family, Amsterdam, The Netherlands - “We spend 2 weeks in December with our children in your cabin, had a great time and appreciate being allowed to stay here. The cabin was located near the 2 ski resorts and on a reasonable distance to restaurants, the Vons supermarket and The Village. We visit the Peppercorn Grille restaurant, you recommended, 3 times! Make a reservation in advance or be prepared to wait an hour (but it's really worthwhile). The cabin has a kitchen that is well stocked with all you need for cooking and eating. It has 2 cozy, comfortable bedrooms with very good beds and clean linens. There is Wi-Fi, Satellite TV (even in the bedrooms!), Music, DVD's, VHS and a lot of games. And than there is that fireplace! After skiing we spent every night at the fire, telling stories, playing games, reading, listening to music or just sitting and staring at the flames. We saw 2 raccoons visiting the terrace, 3 coyotes, rabbits, squirrels and beautiful birds. We were lucky that it was sunny, it has snowed a lot and the slopes were in great condition. The panorama was amazing and must also be fantastic during the summer. We will certainly recommend this place to our friends or family when visiting the area, because such a well equipped cabin and such amazing surroundings is something you will never see in Europe!”

I loved the claw foot tub and the extremely tasteful woodsy decor; my husband the big fireplace in the living room and the fact that we could bring our dog. Mike, San Diego, CA - "We had a great time at your place this weekend and appreciate being allowed to stay there. To start, the driving directions and other information on the "welcome" message was very useful and accurate. The location is ideal for anyone wishing to be located near the ski resorts. We weren't there during the ski season, but did take a drive to each of the resorts and found that Cougar's Tree House is about equidistant between the two resorts and a very reasonable distance to restaurants, gas, grocery or The Village. We weren't sure exactly what to bring for cooking so we took a few extra items, crock pot for example, but were pleasantly surprised to find that the kitchen is well stocked with all you need for cooking and eating. For example, coffee grinder, crock pot, turkey platter and so many pots, pans, bowls and plates that the hardest part is trying to decide which plate or bowl to use. Along those same lines, the house is well stocked with linens and bedding material as well. I think there is even an extra pull-out bed in one of the closets and there should be no trouble sleeping 6. The linens were also clean and in good order, soaps were provided and there were several spices/condiments for our use in the kitchen. As advertised, the Wi-Fi and Satellite TV were available and easy to connect to. DVD's and VHS were provided for those cold weather days when you can't get outside, or just prefer to kick back and relax indoors. There were also several games and books available. The fireplace was a nice amenity and really came in handy, although the price of firewood around there is rather pricey. We paid over $7 for a small bundle (6-7 split logs) of wood at the nearby K-Mart store. It was worth the price though, but you may want to pick some up beforehand. We also made good use of the gas grill on the front porch the first night for dinner. If you have pets, the fenced front porch and back yard are an added benefit, but please don't forget to pick up after Fido for the comfort of other guests and their pets. The upstairs bedrooms and beds were comfortable and the downstairs living area was open to the dining and kitchen areas and made for a great arrangement for socializing. Overall, the house was cozy yet roomy and met or exceeded our expectations and we would certainly recommend this place to our friends or family when visiting the area. We enjoyed the worry-free, no hassle accommodations and the cleanliness of the place when we arrived, and hope all that stay in the future the same pleasure we enjoyed during our visit. The only thing that would have been nice to have that isn't offered is a hot-tub, but you can't always have it all and we left happy."

What we found in Cougar's Tree House was far more than we could have hoped for. This cabin is off the beaten path of the lake area but a short drive to the main street, Big Bear Blvd. The name "tree-house" is very fitting considering the cabin's 3 story structure amongst surrounding pine trees, which gives you a very beautiful view of the mountain from the front porch (which became my favorite spot). Inside is warm (great fireplace) and inviting (spacious). The rustic decorations alone could keep your fascination busy for your entire stay. Not knowing what to expect, we brought many items we didn't need. Cougar's Tree House already had everything. Its really more like staying in a fully supplied hotel than a cabin. We were especially pleased with the fenced yard (that we used for our dog when we didn't feel like taking him for a walk). We saw a ton of wildlife from the back window (coyote, rabbits, grey squirrels and an array of really unusual birds). I could go on and on about this place, but I will sum it all up by saying that if you are looking for peace and quiet (and peace of mind) in a mountain setting, this is the place to be."
