What is included in the bathrooms?
-Luxury Towels - Hand, Face, Body
-SPA line Soap, Conditioning Shampoo, Lotion

-Cooking utensils such as potato peeler, wine opener, spatula, large spoons
-Drinking glasses, coffee cups, dishes

-Dishwasher soap and dish soap and kitchen towel
Do you provide firewood?
No, you can purchase firewood and fire starter sticks at any local store around town including 7-11, and grocery stores.
Do you have a BBQ?
Yes, it is a propane gas grill. Please do not use charcoal or lighter fluid in our barbecue.
Do I have to pay the cleaning fee?
Yes. We charge a cleaning fee to every guest to assure that our cabin is cleaned properly for each guest. The cleaning fees is $65.
How do I get the keys?
Keys are located in a secure lock box at the cabin. Your personal codes will be emailed to you a few days prior to your stay.
Where do I Check-In/Check-Out?
You do not since the keys are at the premises. That's great if your arriving late. No after hours charges to retrieve keys like from the Big management offices.
Can I have the house
cleaned during my stay?
Yes, for additional fees our housekeeping staff is available to clean during your stay.
Will I have to pay a security deposit?
Yes, we collect a security deposit calculated at 50% of your total nightly room rate with a minimum of $200. Security Deposits will be refunded to you usually within 21 days after your departure. Most of the time it takes us 7 days. Deposits will be refunded back to your Pay Pal account or by Check.
Early Check-In or Late Check-Out?
We try to accommodate each guests schedule as much as possible. Many times we are booked back to back and our cleaning staff needs this time to clean properly. Please follow and respect our times and policy to avoid additional fees. A late or early check in/out fee will apply. Our Check In time is after 4 P.M. on your day of arrival and Check Out time is before 11 A.M. on your departure day.
What if something is not working in the home?
Please call us to inform me of the problem if it needs immediate attention. We will do our best to fix any problems that arise during your stay. DSL, Televisions, DVD/VCRs, satellite, small appliances, etc., are supplied as "extras" for Guest use. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown we will have the "extra" repaired as quickly as practical. No refund of rent will be provided for disruption.
Is there a spa on the premises?
No, we do not provide a spa at this time.
What if there is a natural disaster and I can not get to Big Bear?
We will provide a full refund only in the event that all three roads into Big Bear are closed. If there are any roads open into Big Bear, we will not refund in the event of a snow storm, fire, earthquake, etc.
Do I need tire chains?
We recommend carrying chains with you in the winter months. It is not recommended you rely on purchasing chains on the mountain as it can be quite expensive in the event of a storm. For chain requirements you can go to WWW.DOT.CA.GOV or call 1-800-427-ROAD.
How do I find out road conditions?
Please go to the Department of Transportation website at WWW.DOT.CA.GOV or call 1-800-427-ROAD.
Do the homes have heat?
Yes, we have a wall furnace and a wood burning fireplace for your comfort. You will need to purchase wood and fire starter sticks available at almost any convenience or grocery store.
Do the homes have
No, because of Big Bear's mountain climate we do not need it most of the year. In fact, most homes in Big Bear do not have air conditioning. Each bedroom has a ceiling fan and the living room has a portable fan. The average temperature in the summer in Big Bear is 80 degrees during the day and 40 degrees at night.
Is the house Dog Friendly?
Yes, Cougar's Tree House Retreat is dog friendly. Please refrain from bringing your feline pets. Our yard is fully fenced for your dog/dogs romping enjoyment. We ask that you pick up after your pets, before you leave from your stay with us. Our carpets are professionally steam cleaned yearly to keep our home in tip top shape.
Do you provide Internet Access?
Yes we have FREE wireless internet and use a G Plus MIMO router for increased speed, coverage and reliability. We do not provide an Ethernet port so your laptop will have to be equipped with a wireless card. No refund of rent will be provided for disruption.
Do you recommend any restaurants?
Yes, we recommend the following restaurants:

Lunch - Bear Belly Deli, Cocino de Mexico (in Bear City across from Fire station)
Dinner - Peppercorn Grill, B's Backyard Barbecue
Steaks - Captain's Anchorage, Cowboy Express

Chinese - Pong's Oriental Delights
Himalayan/ Indian - Big Bear's Himalayan Restaurant
Are the driveways cleared if there is snow?
Yes, we have contracted with a company during the winter months to plow our driveway. They will usually come within 24 hours of a storm, if there is more than 3-4" of snow. Please allow them to plow the driveways when they come. We also have a can of Snow Melt and a snow shovel at the top of the stairs for you convenience for stairs and icy patches on driveway.
Do you provide cable or satellite TV?
Yes, we have Dish Network top 120, which includes local channels and satellite music channels. No refund of rent will be provided for disruption.
Do you provide phone service?
Yes, our cabin is equipped with local phone service. No refund of rent will be provided for disruption.
